Aunt Mae's Diary
August 1, 1914
Mama and I took the 2:00 autobus and went to Herkimer to Clarence Van Horn's. Got there about 3:30 and spent the remainder of the afternoon sitting on the porch. We had an awfully good supper. After supper, Minnie, Del, Clarence, Laura, Mama & I walked over to Herkimer. Took in the 9 cent sale at Munger's and bought a few things. While in the store I saw Mr. and Mrs. Woodcock, Mrs George Carnwright, Nebbie Harter, Annie and Nellie. The 9 cent sale is a good place to go if you want to see people. When we got through at the store we all went to the "Richmond" to the moving pictures. The principal picture was "Bill and Me". After pictures, Laura, Clarence, and I stopped in some place and had ice cream. Saw Gerald Madison there and had a nice visit with him. Met the Doug the mute and his wife in the trolley station. Took car back to Van Horns. Had lunch (bread and jam) before going to bed at 12:00.
