Started on the 8:00 o'clock train to go somewhere to do Xmas shopping. Didn't know whether I would go to Little Falls, Herkimer, or Utica. Was all alone on Dolgeville train. I met Jack Fenner and he said he was going to Utica and he asked me to go with him and we would go around together. So to Utica I went with Jack and I put in a good day and had a good time. We went to the 10 cent store first and just infested it as Jack kept saying. We had a circus in there. We looked around [     ] and decided to come back later and to do our buying. I bought one of three stretched bags to put our parcels in from [the] 10 cent store and we went to Frazer's then Robert's. We had dinner at Robert's and Jack settled. After dinner we went to mens clothing store and I looked at shirts for Toot. Jack bought a lot of things there. Went back to Frazer's I bought [a] shirt. We did the store from almost top to bottom. Enjoyed looking around. Jack didn't want to carry the stretcher bag for fear people from Dolgeville might see him but it got heavy for me and he took it and carried it all the way home going right through the Dolgeville train going from back end to front [     ] and the joke was on him. How I laughed.

While in Utica stopped in to see Cecile. When we got home Jack came in while we sorted out our packages. He stayed until 11 o'clock and I made a cup of cocoa.
