Went to church in morning with Marguerite. After church we stopped in drug store and had ice cream. After dinner Mama, Emmie, Marguerite and I went up the street and saw Odd Fellows parade. About 3:30 Marguerite and I took the car and went to Utica. Got transfer and rode way up to Genessee street and got off the car at Sunset place and walked down by where Carl's people live. Then we took the car back down Genessee street to the new central station and went in and looked it over. It's beautiful. Afterwards we walked up Genessee street and Marguerite bought a box of candy. We walked down a side street and got a car, which stood in front of a restaurant and we had a circus flirting with two fellows who were at one of the tables there. They actually followed the car down to the corner thinking we would get out and meet them there.

We got back to Herkimer at a quarter to seven and Marguerite and I ate some cold chicken. Mama wanted to stay over until Monday but I had to get home that night. I was already to take the car when Marguerite decided to come home with me and stay til morning train. She hurried and dressed and we missed the car I should have taken. There was another I cold take and connect with Dolgeville train all night if the car was on time. We stood on the street and waited and waited and waited for the car and it was late and when we got off at Little Falls the Dolgeville train was just going around the bend so we went up on Main street and found that the auto bus left at nine. We had half and hour to wait so we went down to the trolley station and telephoned to [coded name]. He told Marguerite he would see her and we got in Dolgeville he stood in front of the house. I sent him to telephone for Purcell but he had gone to bed. [coded name], Marguerite, and I walked up the street and up State street a ways then came back to the house. I made pepper [   ] and cocoa and [coded name] stayed until 1 o'clock. [coded name] [   ] me with lunch and we ate in the dining room.
