Aunt Mae's Diary
05/30/1914
About 9:30, Purcell and I, Hazel and Purcell's uncle went downtown to see parade. After parade Hazel took car for Johnstown and we went to call on P's uncle Cecile and his wife. Afterwards, stopped in a place and had cream, then went bact to house and had dinner. At 2:00 Purcell and I took car and went to Gloversville Station where we took the train for "Sacandaga Park". Nice ride. Went first to Midway and rode on the rollercoaster, from there to skating rink where we went in and Purcell skated awhile, then up to the dancing pavilion where we stayed rest of the afternoon and danced every tango. Went off pavilion once and had ice cream. At 6:00, went down to midway and had lunch. Came back to pavilion and danced until time for fire works then went back down to midway and sat on bench on shore of water and watched fire works. After works came back to pavilion and danced till we took train (9:30). Music was great and how we did dance "tango". Danced all the time with Purcell.
